Rose with 'Bella' script
Saturation held in check by drawing. The colour is planned at consultation, not chosen at the machine — every hue in the piece is there to describe a form, and the lettering is set to the arm rather than dropped on top of it.

Placement on the upper arm decided the composition: the piece has to read when the arm is at rest, which rules out detail that only works flat on a drawing board.
Structure first, then a value pass underneath, then colour laid over a drawing that already worked without it. That order is why the rose still reads as form rather than as a colour field.
Script sits with the piece rather than beside it. Lettering is the part clients most often want added late, and it is the part that most needs to be designed in from the start — the curve of a name has to agree with the curve of the limb it is on.
