Est · 1982 · Port Byron, NY

Forty-plus years, one standard.

Hardcore Tattoo 1982 has been putting custom work on people in Port Byron since 1982. Not a franchise, not a flash wall with a queue — a shop where the piece is drawn for the person sitting in the chair and nothing goes on skin that will not still read a decade from now.

The standard

Custom first. Numbers published.

The work here is custom first. That means the concept, placement and size are settled with you before a stencil exists, and it means we will tell you plainly when an idea will not hold at the size you want it.

There is no upsell script and no manufactured urgency. Rates are published, the deposit is published, and the session plan is explained before any money moves — because a client who knows exactly what happens next sits better and heals better.

Five standards

How the work is held.

  1. 01

    Custom, not catalogue

Built for you, not pulled off a wall. If you want an exact copy of somebody else's tattoo, this is the wrong shop — bring the idea and we will draw it.
  2. 02

    Drawn before it is inked

Concept, placement and size are qualified at consultation, and the session plan comes with the reasoning behind it. Surprises belong in the artwork, not the invoice.
  3. 03

    Published numbers

$100 per hour, $300 for the 4-hour session, $50 deposit against the total. The same numbers on the wall, the site and the receipt.
  4. 04

    Healed is the only proof

Fresh work photographs well and tells you nothing. What is published here says whether it was photographed healed, because that is the state you have to live in.
  5. 05

Aftercare is part of the job

Written aftercare goes home with every client and a healed check-in follows. The piece is not finished when you leave the chair.

The artist

One chair. One artist.

Approach

Work is planned in sittings rather than sold by the hour: a four-hour session is the standard unit here because it is long enough to finish a stage and short enough to hold quality to the last line.

No published portrait of the artist is on file, so none is shown.

Port Byron Studio

The room.

The shop is a working room, not a showroom: one chair at a time, tools laid out, everything single-use that should be. Call ahead for anything same-day — custom work is scheduled so the time is genuinely yours.

No published photograph of the room is available yet. Rather than dress the page with a stock interior, this plate stays empty until there is a real one to show.
