Tate art-term page. Verbatim: "A memento mori is an artwork designed to remind the viewer of their mortality and of the shortness and fragility of human life" and "Memento mori is a Latin phrase meaning 'remember you must die'". Names skull, hour glasses or clocks as recurring symbols. IMPORTANT LIMIT: an art-historical page. It says nothing about tattooing.

iNKPPL Tattoo Magazine
Tattoo magazine long-form article. Its meaning table has a Western / Memento Mori row whose meaning cell reads "Remember mortality, live deliberately"; it describes the punk "ethos of wearing death imagery to reject mainstream comfort"; and it carries an explicit caution about "calavera (sugar skull)" designs and Mexican Dia de los Muertos traditions. TITLE NOTE: the on-page heading is transcribed here; the browser title of the same page reads "Skull Tattoo Meaning: Symbols of Life, Death & Rebirth". The word 'rebirth' appears ONLY in that browser title and not in the body, so no rebirth claim is drawn from this source.

Tattooing 101
Professional tattoo education page. Enumerates the traditional element list verbatim: "Butterflies, moths, wolves, tigers, bears, panthers, snakes, eagles, owls, hourglasses, skulls, portraits, pin up girls, guns, and daggers are all common elements in traditional tattoo design", and separately "nautical themes are found often in American Traditional like anchors, lighthouses, mermaids, ships, sharks, octopuses, messages in a bottle, compasses, and rope". Unusually for a trade page it also states COMPOSITION behaviour: "using a dagger in your designs can emphasize the lines of the body", and that a rope frame "makes designs more circular to fit rounded areas better". Those two are the only composition_behaviors values in this sub-batch that are sourced rather than blank.

Tier 1, Tate: “A basic memento mori painting would be a portrait with a skull but other symbols commonly found are hour glasses or clocks, extinguished or guttering candles, fruit, and flowers.” Note Tate's own two-word spelling ‘hour glasses’, transcribed faithfully. The tattoo-domain bridge is a separate source, source_inkppl_skull_meaning, which places an hourglass beside a skull in tattoo iconography; its sentence is quoted on the motif_hourglass node, which cites it.
